VERMILLION S.D. - The Bemidji State University Cross Country team sent three runners to Vermillion, S.D. to compete in the NCAA North Central Regional hosted by the University of South Dakota on Saturday.
The Beavers had sophomore Genna Ironi (Sauk Center, Minn.), junior Rebecca Hougen (Bemidji, Minn.), and senior M’Kelle Tomberlin (Greenway, Minn.) participate in the meet at the Don Baker Cross Country Course.
In her final collegiate cross country compeition, Tomberlin finished with a time of 27:13.27.
Adams State finished first in the meet with a score of 28, 58 points ahead of Augustana (S.D.) and Western State. Fellow Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference member and NSIC Conference Champion Minnesota State University, Moorhead finished in 10th place.
With Tomberlin being the only departure due to graduation, the Beavers should look for another year of improvement from their team which saw their first All Conference Runner since the 2005 season in freshman Stacy Letourneau (White Bear Lake, Minn.). |
