Beavers break the seal on the 2008 outdoor season Saturday

April 2, 2008

BEMIDJI, Minn. - Winter's snowy blanket is quickly eroding and the sights and sounds of a Northern Minnesota spring are just around the bend bringing with them the starting gun of the 2008 outdoor track and field season. The Bemidji State University men's and women's squads will lift the lid on their outdoor campaign Saturday when they travel to St. Paul, Minn. to compete in the Hamline Invitational April 5.

The Hamline Invitational is slated for a 10 a.m. start at the Klas Center.

Just three weeks removed from Sheena Devine's (Sr., North Branch, Minn.) shot put championship and a pair of All-American performances at the NCAA Division II 2008 Indoor Track and Field Championships, the Beavers are back at it competing in the first of seven outdoor events en route to the 2008 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships May 9-10.
