Preble named to the Division II All-Academic Track and Field Team

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Bemidji State University decathlete Zac Preble (Coleraine, Minn.) had been named to the 2008 USTFCCCA Division II Men’s All-Academic Track and Field Team, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced today.

Preble was one of 109 student-athletes representing 44 Division II institutions making up the men’s 2008 All-Academic squad.

The Coleraine, Minn. native is the BSU and NSIC record-holder and two-time defending conference champion in the decathlon (6,672 points). He was a first-time participant at the 2008 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships as he provisionally qualified for the decathlon with 6,669 points at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships (NSIC).

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25 and have met the NCAA Division II Indoor or Outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their respective event.

Bemidji State University, located in Bemidji, Minn., competes at the NCAA Division I and II levels and is a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC), the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) and College Hockey America (CHA).
