Apr. 23, 2009 - Bemidji State adds five to 2009 class
Bemidji State University head volleyball coach Laurie Bitter today announced the addition of four student-athletes for the 2009 volleyball season. Laura Carlson (Hutchinson, Minn. ), Bethany Thompson (Owatonna, Minn.) and Sarah Schwanz (Eagan, Minn.) have made the decision to play for the Beavers and will enroll at BSU in the fall of 2009 while Samantha Hertaus (New Prague, Minn.) and Nicole Solum (Spokane, Wash.) transferred to BSU at semester break and practiced with the Beavers this spring.

Feb. 12, 2009 - Bemidji State unveils 2009 volleyball schedule
Bemidji State University head volleyball coach Laurie Bitter today announced the Beavers’ 2009 volleyball schedule featuring three preseason tournaments, eleven home matches and head-to-head contests with five teams that were ranked in Division II’s top 25 at one time or another last season. Also, five of the eight opponents in the 2008 North Central Region Tournament, including two-time defending NCAA Division II National Champion Concordia University, St. Paul, are penciled in as BSU opponents.

Nov. 10, 2008 - BSU looks to snap losing slide in final weekend of 2008
The Bemidji State University volleyball team hits the road this weekend for its final two regular season contests of the 2008 season when it travels to Winona, Minn. and Fayette, Iowa to battle the Winona State University Warriors and the Upper Iowa University Peacocks. The Beavers will play Winona State on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. and will wrap up the season at Upper Iowa on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 3 p.m.

Nov. 5, 2008 - Beavers return home for final home stand of 2008
The Bemidji State University volleyball team will return home this weekend for its final home stand of the 2008 season. The Beavers host two nationally ranked teams in No. 21 Augstana College Vikings and No. 23 Wayne State College Wildcats. BSU will take on the Vikings on Friday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. and will wrap up the home portion of its season on Saturday, Nov. 8 against Wayne State at 4 p.m. from the BSU Gymnasium.

The Bemidji State University volleyball team (6-19; 2-11 NSIC) returns to Bemidji after two weeks of playing on the road to host Minnesota State University (14-11; 9-5 NSIC) and No. 3 Southwest Minnesota State (23-3; 12-2 NSIC) for a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tilts. The Bemidji State University volleyball team will hit the road for a weekend trip west in the Dakota's. BSU will first hit South Dakota as they will be in Aberdeen, S.D. on Friday, Oct. 17 for a match with the Northern State University Wolves at 7 p.m. Saturday, the Beavers will be in North Dakota to take on the University of Mary Marauders in Bismarck, N.D. at 3 p.m.

The Bemidji State University volleyball team dropped a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match to No. 23 Augustana College Friday evening at the Elmen Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. The nationally-ranked Vikings recorded twenty more kills than the Beavers’ while hitting an efficient .308 to put the match away via the sweep (25-10, 25-22, 25-15).

The Bemidji State University volleyball team will host the Winona State Warriors and Upper Iowa University Peacocks for homecoming weekend. The Beavers will be looking to extend their win streak to three matches and will be looking to open up the home portion of its schedule 3-0 for the first time since 2003. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. on Friday versus Winona State with a 4 p.m. start time versus Upper Iowa on Saturday. Bemidji State currently holds a 5-10 overall record and 1-2 in the conference play.

Sept. 23, 2008 - Beavers bury Wolves in home opener, 3-1
Bemidji State University sophomore outside hitter Nicole Olson (Baudette, Minn.) posted her second consecutive double-double with 15 kills and 10 digs en route to leading the Beavers to their first conference win of the season over the Northern State University Wolves, 3-1 (23-25, 25-21, 26-24, 25-21), at the BSU Gymnasium. The win was the fifth of the season for BSU, snapping a seven-match losing skid to the Wolves.

The Bemidji State University volleyball team will open up the home portion of its schedule Tuesday, Sept. 23 as the Beavers host the Northern State Wolves. The Bemidji State University volleyball team is set to open conference play this weekend as the Beavers will travel to Moorhead, Minn. and Crookston, Minn. over the weekend. The Beavers will open the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) against the MSU Moorhead Dragons (6-6) for just the sixth time in school history on Friday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. and then will play the Minnesota, Crookston Golden Eagles (0-9) on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 4 p.m. The Beavers hold a record of 4-8 this season.

Sept. 12, 2008 - Beavers downed by nationally ranked opponents
For the first time in school history the Bemidji State University volleyball team played two ranked opponents in one day. The Beavers were swept by No. 12 Minnesota Duluth (17-25, 19-25, 16-25) and went four sets with No. 9 Western Washington before falling, 3-1 (21-25, 31-29, 10-25, 19-25 ) in the opening day of the UMD Kraus Anderson Classic.

Sept. 9, 2008 - Spikers Prep for UMD Classic
After starting the year 4-5 for the second time in three years, the Beavers will play three more matches Friday and Saturday at the UMD Classic. Friday, Sept. 12 Bemidji State will play No. 12 Minnesota Duluth at 12 p.m. and then first time opponent No. 9 Western Washington at 5 p.m. The Beavers will close out the UMD Classic on Saturday, Sept. 13 with another first time opponent, the University of New Haven Chargers at 3 p.m. All three opponents on Bemidji State's schedule have at least a .750 winning percentage to start the season. UMD holds a 6-2 mark while Western Washington and New Haven are both undefeated at 4-0 and 3-0, respectively.

Sept. 6, 2008 - Beavers end Golden Eagle Classic 1-3
The Bemidji State University volleyball team continued play at the Golden Eagle Classic today as the Beavers played Minnesota State University, Moorhead and Lake Superior State. The Beavers were swept by the Dragons in three sets (17-25, 14-25, 18-25) in the first match of the day but were able to snap a three match losing streak by sweeping Lake Superior State (25-17, 25-20, 25-16) in the Beavers final match of the classic.

Sept. 5, 2008 - BSU drops two in opening day of Golden Eagle Classic
In its first day of competition at the Golden Eagle Classic, the Bemidji State volleyball team was swept by the University of Manitoba (25-20, 25-17, 25-20) and Division I South Dakota (25-21, 25-18, 25-15) seeing its record drop to below .500 for the first time this season (3-4; 0-0 NSIC).

Sept. 4, 2008 - Beaver Volleyball Back On the Road
The Bemidji State University volleyball team will be on the road for the second consecutive weekend as they will head 90 miles west down highway two to partake in the Golden Eagle Classic in Crookston, Minn. The Beavers will play four matches in two days, taking on the University of Manitoba and the University of South Dakota on Sept. 5 and Minnesota State University-Moorhead and Lake Superior State University on Sept. 6.

The Bemidji State University volleyball team will be looking to snap a six-match slide to the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux tonight as the Beavers will play the Fighting Sioux at 7 p.m. in Grand Forks, N.D. from the Bette Engelstad Sioux Center. It will be the first meeting between the two teams since UND went Division I and it will be the Beavers first trip to Grand Forks, N.D. since 2006. BSU is currently off to its best start since 2003 as the Beavers hold a 3-1 record.

In its final day of competition at the Las Vegas Blast, the Bemidji State University volleyball team (3-1; 0-0) flew out of Las Vegas, Nev. with a sweep over Newman University (25-12, 25-15, 25-21) and Huntington University (25-22, 25-19, 19-25, 25-21). The Beavers 3-1 record is their best start to a season since the 2003 year when BSU opened 3-1.

The Bemidji State University volleyball team opened the 2008 campaign going 1-1 today at the Las Vegas Blast in Las Vegas, Nev. The Beavers swept the Newman University Jets (25-23, 25-16, 25-13) in their first match of the day and dropped a five set affair to Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) foe Northern State (23-25, 15-25, 25-15, 25-16, 15-17) in the night cap.

The Bemidji State University Beavers will travel to Las Vegas, Nev. to open up the 2008 slate. With its first trip to Vegas, the Beavers will participate in the Las Vegas Blast playing four matches over a span of two days (Aug. 29-30). The Beavers open the season and the Blast versus a first time opponent in the Newman University Jets at 3 p.m. on Aug. 29. BSU will wrap up play on the first day of the blast with a match versus Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) foe Northern State University at 7 p.m. BSU will wrap up its stay in Vegas on Saturday, Aug. 30 when they will play Newman University for the second time in as many days starting at 2 p.m. BSU’s last match in Vegas will pit the Beavers versus Huntington University at 6 p.m., another first time opponent.

Aug. 13, 2008 - BSU tied for eleventh in 2008 Preseason Coaches’ Poll
The Bemidji State women’s volleyball team has been picked to finish in a tie for eleventh in the 2008 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preseason Volleyball Coaches Poll, announced today by the league office. The Beavers, who finished eighth in the NSIC in 2007 with an overall record of 10-17, return seven players from last years’ roster including junior outside hitter Brie Groskreutz (Reedsburg, Wis.) who was named as a 2008 NSIC Player to Watch in the same poll.

Aug. 8, 2008 - BSU volleyball hits the court for pre-season camp
It seems as though the Bemidji State University’s senior class just finished participating in the ceremonies surrounding graduation, but in the ever-present world of collegiate sports the recent calendar flip to August can only mean one thing--the 2008 fall athletic season is just around the corner. Monday, Aug. 11, is check-in-day for the BSU volleyball program as the team gears up for its 2008 training camp.

Bemidji State University head volleyball coach Laurie Bitter announced today the signing of one more player to her 2008 recruiting class. Jessi-Beth McCannell of Brandon, Manitoba becomes the sixth student-athlete to sign a National Letter of Intent to join the BSU program for the 2008-09 academic year.

Bemidji State University head volleyball coach Laurie Bitter today announced the commitment of five student-athletes to play for the Beavers in 2008. The signing of Courtney Bitter, Kimberly Hacker, Laura Slinger, Melissa McNeely, and Erikka Korpi stand as Bitter’s first signees to the BSU program.

The Bemidji State University volleyball team will host a Co-Ed Hi-Lo 6’s Volleyball Tournament on Dec. 8, 2007 and a Reverse 4 Co-Ed Volleyball Tournament on Jan. 26, 2008 at the BSU Gymnasium. Members of the campus community, Bemidji and surrounding area are encouraged to form teams and compete.
