BEMIDJI, Minn. - Bemidji State senior outside
hitter Brittney Burns (LeSueur, Minn.) was
named to the 2007 Concordia College Classic All-Tournament
Team last weekend. This was the second time in as many season’s
that Burns’ was named to the Concordia College Classic
All-Tournament Team. The Beavers went 2-2 in the Classic,
garnering victories over Valley City State and Mayville State
and falling to Black Hills State and Concordia College.
Burns recorded 38 kills in four games (2.71 k/g), hitting
at a rate of .195. She had five service aces along with 53
digs (3.79 p/g). She also had four solo blocks and one assisted
block (5) on the weekend.
She was one of two Bemidji State Beavers to record a double-double
against the Concordia College Cobbers. She had 16 kills and
20 digs to record her first double-double of the season and
the 26th of her career.
Joining Burns on the all-tournament team are; Jen
Weitzel and Mandy Brumfield from
Black Hills State, Michelle Honek and Alyssa
Dahl from Concordia College and Jessica Eliasson
from Rocky Mountain.
Bemidji State (2-2-0, 0-0-0 NSIC) will next be in action this
weekend when the Beavers will open up conference play against
Northern State (5-2-0, 0-0-0 NSIC) on Friday, Sept. 7 at 7:00
p.m. and then will wrap up the weekend on Saturday, Sept.
8 at 3:00 p.m. at the University of Mary (3-2-0, 0-0-0 NSIC)
in Bismarck, N.D.
