Freshman Season (2008): She led the Beavers by playing in all 103 sets, earning starts in all 31 matches...Garnered a team-high 884 (8.58 a/s) assists...Her 884 set assists was most by a BSU freshman going back to as far as 2002...She ranked second among her teammates with 252 digs (2.45 d/s) while she was fifth with 120 kills (1.17 k/s)...She also garnered 18 service aces (four on team) and 24 blocks (1 BS - 23 BA)...Throughout her freshman campaign she had five 40+ assist matches including a career-high 46 assist performance in just her second collegiate match against Northern State on Aug. 30, 2008...Bitter led the Beavers in assists 32 times with 12 30-or-more assists matches...She paced the Beavers with seven double-doubles, with seven double-digit dig matches...On Oct. 17, 2008 she recorded a career-high 20 digs while she served up a career-high four service aces on Sept. 6, 2008 versus Lake Superior State...Bitter was also named to the 2008 Las Vegas Blast All-Tournament Team.
At Bemidji High School: A six time letter winner at Lake of the Woods High School and Bemidji High School she walks away from high school volleyball with numerous records and awards...during her high school career she participated in three Minnesota State High School League class AA tournaments and led Lake of the Woods High School to a 2005 Class AA championship...she was named to the Minnesota State High School League All-Tournament team in 2005 and 2006 while receiving Metro first team in 2006...she is a five time All-Conference selection earning subsection Most Valuable Player two years...the three-time All-State performer broke the Minnesota State setting record and is ranked second in the nation in set assists...she broke the serve ace record two times with 17 ace serves and broke the service points record in Minnesota and sits fourth in the nation for service points...she has also been an integral part of the club circuit as she helped bring two Lady Lakers junior teams to the national championship game and as an eighth grader she represented the regional team in nationals...in addition to being on the honor roll throughout her high school career she has also been a member of the National Honor Society for three years.
