At Owatonna High School: A three-year varsity player at Owatonna High School, Thompson led her team to a 20-9 record and the Big Nine Conference championship her senior season and also guided the squad to a Minnesota State Volleyball Tournament appearance her junior year where the Huskies placed fifth...At the conclusion of her senior campaign, she earned all-conference accolades and was named all-area player of the year...The three-time letter winner also earned team MVP honors while posting the best kill efficiency among her teammates in 2007...As a prep she was active in track and field where she is a two-time letter winner...Thompson also excels in the classroom as she has been a consistent member of the Owatonna High School “A” Honor Roll.

Personal: Born in Owatonna, Minn. on April 8, 1991...She is the daughter of Craig Thompson and Teri Thompson...Proposed exercise science major.

Coach Bitter on Thompson:
“The thing that caught my eye with Bethany is her ability to jump. She has a natural athletic build and is a very fast player who can play defense, block and spike the ball. She is a player who can eventually be a outstanding outside hitter for us.”
