Included in the program will be Andrew Lloyd Webber's "I Don't Know How to Love Him" from "Jesus Christ Superstar" with a solo performance by bass trombonist Alex Carlson, a senior music major from Trimont, Minn. The Trombone Choir will also perform "Festfanfare" by Dennis Winter, "Sleep" by Eric Whitacre, "Sanctus" by G. Verdi and "Slide Colors" by Keith Snell and "Overture to the Barber of Seville" by G. Rossini. Also featured will be the BSU Trombone Quartet.
The Trombone Choir performs under the direction of Dr. Joel Pugh, BSU director of bands and assistant professor of low brass, who founded the ensemble in 2002. Participating musicians come from as far away as Grand Rapids and Detroit Lakes.
