Vilhjalmsdottir's exhibition is entitled "Want Me Now?" Her exhibit features paintings that explore how society quietly keeps holding on to unequal values even though it wants to believe it has advanced from the values of the 1950s.
An opening reception for Vilhjalmsdottir's show will be held Thursday, May 1, beginning at 4 p.m.
Viljhalmsdottir is a senior majoring in visual arts from Iceland.
Located in the Education-Arts Building on the campus of Bemidji State University, Gallery X is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The gallery is open at no charge to the public.
