Talley Gallery to present student scholarship show

BEMIDJI, Minn. —  Students in Bemidji State University’s Department of Visual Arts will present its 2009 spring scholarship show, entitled “No Boundaries,” in the Talley Gallery of Bemidji State’s Education Arts Complex from Monday, March 30 through Friday, April 17.

This year’s student show left artists free to create pieces in any medium with an interpretation of the phrase “no boundaries.”

This year more than $8,000 in scholarships and awards were made available to art majors and minors at Bemidji State through the generous contributions of donors to the BSU Foundation. Donors include Rick and Marcella Sherman; Westy James; M. Fern Birnstihl; Lillie M. Kleven; Margaret H. Harlow; Eugene Dalzotto; Keith Malmquist; and the CAS Emeriti Scholarship, a rotating scholarship through Bemidji State’s College of Arts and Sciences.

An opening reception for the show will be held Monday, March 30, from noon-3 p.m.

Located in room 212 of the Education Arts building on the campus of Bemidji State University, the Talley Gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The gallery is barrier-free and is open at no charge to the public.
