BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University’s Jazz II will present its spring concert featuring a variety of jazz styles from blues to Latin at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 29, in the Thompson Recital Hall of the Bangsberg Fine Arts Complex. Admission is free of charge.
Featured soloists will include seniors Kyle Vadner on alto saxophone playing Earle Hagen’s “Harlem of Nocturne” and Karissa Korbel on tenor saxophone playing “Love is Here to Stay” by George and Ira Gershwin. Vadner of Forest Lake, Minn., is majoring in psychology, and Korbel of Squaw Lake, Minn., is majoring in music and liberal arts. Also performing will be a smaller jazz ensemble.
Jazz II, directed by Craig Haugen, is open to music majors, non-music majors, high school students and community members.
