Talley Gallery to feature works by Jon Billing

BEMIDJI, Minn. (February 17, 2011) — Jon Billing, a senior in art at Bemidji State University, will have an exhibition of his sculpture and installation work entitled “It Never Stops” opening next week at Bemidji State University.

Billing, from Park Rapids, Minn., will have his work on display at the University’s Talley Gallery beginning Monday, Feb. 21, and running through March 4. An opening reception for the exhibition will be held at the gallery from 3-7 p.m. on Feb. 21.

The exhibition will feature cast plaster pieces, wood carvings and drawings related to processes that never stop - growth and decay, love and attraction, and separation.

“My goal was to create works of art that impoly the unending movement and flow of these processes,” Billing said.

Billing’s exhibition is the second of five on the gallery’s schedule for this spring.

Located in room 212 of the Education Arts building on the campus of Bemidji State University, the Talley Gallery is barrier-free and open at no charge to the public. All activities in the Talley Gallery are supported by the University’s Student Activity Fee Allocation Committee. The Talley Gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
