BSU Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band to Perform Dec. 3

BEMIDJI, Minn. (Nov. 29, 2011) — The Bemidji State University Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band will perform Saturday, Dec. 3, at 3 p.m. in the Thompson Recital Hall in Bemidji State’s Bangsberg Fine Arts Complex.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for senior citizens.  Students are admitted free with a valid ID.

The Symphonic Band will play music from “The Phantom of the Opera” by Andrew Lloyd Webber and “Sleigh Ride” by Leroy Anderson.  The band will also feature student guest conductors Jini Block and Samantha Becker.

The Wind Ensemble will perform music “Strange Humors” by John Mackey, which features the djembe, an African drum played by percussionist Faith Lundin.

Student chamber groups will also perform at the concert.
