BEMIDJI, Minn. (Dec. 2, 2011) — The Bemidji State University women’s basketball team is off to a 2-2 start heading into its first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference games of the season.
BSU opened the season 2-0, including a 100-51 home win against Mayville State University on Nov. 19. It marked the first time in two years that the Beavers scored over 100 points in a game; the last time was a 108-63 win over Martin Luther in 2009.
The Beavers opened their season with an 81-68 loss at Jamestown College in an Oct. 27 exhibition game, then downed Lakehead University, 97-61, in its first official contest of the year. BSU then dropped a 92-50 exhibition decision at Big Ten member Minnesota before defeating Mayville State.
BSU then dropped a pair of games at the Nova Southeastern Thanksgiving Classic to move to 2-2 heading into its Dec. 2 NSIC opener.
BSU was pegged to finish 13th in the NSIC’s Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
