Focus the Nation followup presentation slated for Feb. 7

BEMIDJI, Minn. - Three speakers who were unable to attend the Focus the Nation event on global warming at Bemidji State University on Thursday, Jan. 31, have agreed to come to campus for a Thursday, Feb. 7 presentation, "Power, Politics and Climate Change in Northern Minnesota." The presentation, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 7 p.m. at the American Indian Resource Center.

District 4A State Representative Frank Moe, Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy Legal director Janette Brimmer and Indigenous Environmental Network Director Tom Goldtooth will participate in the forum to discuss power, the energy that produces that power, politics and climate change which are all converging on a rapidly changing political and legal climate in northern Minnesota.

The forum is presented by BSU Students for the Environment and BSU's People and the Environment Program.
