OPC leads Oct. 20 hike along North Country Trail

BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University’s Outdoor Program Center (OPC) will lead a leisurely, fun hike along the North Country National Scenic Trail system on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Free and open to the public, the hike will include transportation and cover several miles of the 4,600-mile trail that links communities, forests, and prairies from North Dakota to New York.

“Expect lake vistas, fun conversation and a great time to connect with the outdoors,” said hike leader Rabi Vandergon.

Those interested in going should call the OPC to sign up and plan on meeting at the OPC office in the bottom level of Hobson Memorial Union. Vandergon recommends bringing a light lunch, day backpack and bottle of water.

More information is available by contacting the Outdoor Program Center at (218) 755-2999.
