Outdoor Programming Center offers July 25 sea kayaking course

BEMIDJI, Minn. - Bemidji State University’s Outdoor Program Center (OPC) will hold a sea kayaking skills course on Friday, July 25, on the lakefront at Diamond Point Park in Bemidji.

The session will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The sea kayaking skills course is a new course designed for beginner and intermediate kayakers looking to further their sea kayaking skills. It focuses on navigation skills, towing, rescuing and rolling and aims to give kayakers the confidence to kayak on camping trips and in unfamiliar waters.

Attendees should being a swimsuit and towel, and nose plugs and goggles are recommended. The OPC will provide kayaks. The course is limited to six participants and pre-registration is recommended. Payment is $15 and is due at registration.
