BSU All-American thrower Joe Remitz successfully defended his NSIC indoor shot put championship with a first-place mark of 59-07.50. Remitz became the 22nd student-athlete in BSU history to capture an individual national title May 23 with a shot put mark of 63-02.00 at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships in Pamona, Calif. His championship throw also surpassed his own school record by nearly 20 inches.
