Richard Dick Haugo, 83, of Bemidji, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at his home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Lutheran Church with the Rev. Linda Tenneson officiating. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji and one hour prior to the services at the church. Dr. Haugo was Professor Emeritus of Industrial Technology and in 1982 he was appointed Interim President of Bemidji State University, serving from January to August. Upon retiring in 1988 he continued to work on his hobby farm near Guthrie. Flags at BSU will fly at half mast for the remainder of the week in honor of our former colleague.
