The Northern Minnesota Regional Science Fair is held at Bemidji State University in late February each year. Approximately 100 to 150 students from our 15 county region (Aitkin, Beltrami, Cass, Clearwater, Crow Wing, Hubbard, Itasca, Kittson, Koochiching, Marshall, Lake of the Woods, Pennington, Red Lake, Roseau, and Wadena) compete, and about 30 students with poster presentations and 5 with research papers are selected to advance to the State Science Fair. Because our fair is affiliated with the International Science and Engineering Fair, the forms required for our fair are the same as those used for the International Science Fair, along with a cover sheet. Visit our forms page for more information. The deadline for receipt of Science Fair forms is February 12, 2013. This deadline is needed to allow the program to be written, and the projects reviewed by the Scientific Review Committee.

The Minnesota State Science Fair brings together the top science fair students from the 11 regions within the state. Students may present a poster or submit their paper and give an oral presentation of their written paper, again, expanding their experience. The Minnesota State Science Fair is held at the DoubleTree by Hilton.
The Intel ISEF, the world's largest international pre-college science competition, annually provides a forum for more than 1,500 high school students from over 40 countries to showcase their independent research. Projects from each region advance directly, as well as those selected to advance from the state competition. Participants in the ISEF meet many other students with new ideas and similar interests. They are exposed to a wonderful array of new experiences with tours, presentations and other fun activities. The 2013 Science Fair will be held May 12-17 in Phoenix, AZ.
