Biography

Christy is a wife and mother of three. She started her nursing career working as a nursing resource nurse, in the areas of med/surg, orthopedics, postpartum, pediatrics, nursery, emergency room, and intensive care. Christy finished her Bachelor of Nursing degree at Bemidji State University in 2000, Master’s Degree in Nursing Education from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2013 and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Winona State University in 2016. Christy has been in nursing education since 2000, and has taught in Practical Nursing, Associate Degree nursing, Prelicensure, and RN-BS programs, both online and on campus delivery. Currently Dr. Cook is an associate professor of nursing at Bemidji State University specializing in translation of evidence into practice, acute care nursing, simulation, and neonatal abstinence syndrome.
