Mrs. Jen Atteberry has a baccalaureate degree from the University of Iowa and a Masters in Nursing from the University of Phoenix with an emphasis in Nurse Education. She currently is in the dissertation process for her PhD, focusing on the use of high and low fidelity simulation in nursing curriculum development. She enjoys maternal child nursing and has practiced in this area for several years. Jen has held a position in a level II neonatal intensive care unit for several years along with being a member of the neonatal transport team. She also worked in the pediatric and pediatric intensive care unit during this time.

Nurse education was an area of interest for Jen before she even graduated from nursing school. She has experience as a full time faculty member for first semester students though senior capstone students, maternal-child, critical care, neuro/oncology, and home health settings. She has experience in theory, lab, and clinical settings. Jen has a broad range of experience with development, facilitation, and mentoring with various levels of fidelity in simulation. Jen has extensive experience as a facilitator for senior capstone for RN and BSN students. She is a facilitator for the growth of international service learning to Belize for nursing students at Bemidji State University.

Jen enjoys service-learning opportunities and travels throughout the United States aiding people affected in natural disasters and situational crisis. She has been a contributing writer of NCLEX based questions and virtual simulation for an international publisher. Jen is active in community service in the Bemidji area and values relational opportunities with nursing students. In her spare time, she enjoys watching ice hockey, Iowa Hawkeye football and basketball, fishing, travel, and photography.
