Curriculum Information

Faculty and departments involved in developing curriculum must consider their contributions from several perspectives. There are some curricular requirements that affect the entire university such as the 120 credit hours required (and limited to) for the baccalaureate degree. Additionally, at BSU, all students must complete the requirements of the Liberal Education Core, a 40 credit hour requirement that fulfills the learning outcomes for a liberal education. Departmental and major requirements allow for some degree of specialization within a particular field and should be integrated with the liberal education requirements for all students. Major curriculum design should meet any relevant licensure, certification, or other special requirements within a field and should meet the standards of relevant accrediting bodies.
