Randy Westhoff is a Professor of Mathematics and has been a faculty member at Bemidji State University since 1994.  He was a first generation college student, graduating from Eastern Washington University with both bachelors and masters degrees in mathematics.  He continued on to graduate school at the University of Utah, earning his Ph.D. in algebraic geometry.  Though he still still enjoys conducting research, most of his time is now occupied with teaching and the duties that go along with being a department chair. Randy is married with two sons and enjoys running, golfing, curling, gardening, wine making and fishing.
