Configuring Outlook Express 5

Setting ~stmail.bemidjistate.edu~ as a mail server in Outlook Express

  1. From Tools menu, select Accounts to open Accounts dialog. The following box appears.

  1. Type in your name and click Next. Then the following box appears.

     

  1. Type in your student email address and click Next. Then the following box appears.

  1. From the drop down box, choose IMAP for incoming server and type in stmail.bemidjistate.edu for both incoming as well as outgoing mail server. Click Next for the following box to appear.

                        

  1. Type in your User ID (e.g. smit1joh for John Smith) in the Account name box and your password in the next box followed by Next. The box below appears.

  1. Click Finish and you’ll be out of the wizard. It might then ask you if you want your folders from your email account be downloaded in your Outlook account. Click yes if you want to.

    

  1. If you click Yes, it’ll ask you to enter your password again. After doing that, your student mail account folders will appear along with other folder from Outlook itself.
