Scan Computer in Safe Mode

  1. During startup, press F8 when you see the manufacturer’s logo appear. You will see a menu with various options. Choose: Boot in Safe Mode with Network Support
  2. When Windows starts up you will see SAFEMODE in each of the four corners of the window.
  3. Click Start, Programs, Symantec Client Security, Symantec AntiVirus. Click Local Disk as shown below:
  4. Click Scan

If a virus is found, follow the instructions to either remove it or quarantine the virus.

If this is not successful, you may need to reformat your computer. Refer to the manufacturer’s web site for warranty information and technical assistance, or instructions on how to reformat or restore the computer using the original CD’s that came with your computer.
