The chat feature allows participants and instructors to communicate with each other in real-time. Chats are automatically archived.

Classlist |
This feature lists the users enrolled in the course. It is also indicates which users are currently online. Instructors can email students, create/manage groups, and view student profiles.

Content |
This feature allows the instructor to post content related to the course.

Discussions |
This feature allows the instructor to create forums and topic threads to promote discussion among participants. Discussions are asynchronous (not in real-time).

Dropbox |
This feature allows students to submit their work online to Dropbox folders created by the instructor. Instructors can post assignment grades and feedback in the Dropbox. Grades can be automatically sent to the gradebook.

Email |
This feature provides an easy method for instructors to email course participants.

Grades |
This feature is a feedback option to let students know their grades in the course.

Links |
This feature allows the instructor to create a separate resources page with links to external websites and other Internet resources.

Locker |
This feature provides an additional storage area for files. Files in the locker can be made public to other D2L users or kept private.

Quizzes |
This feature allows instructors to create formative and evaluative assessments using a variety of question formats (e.g., True/False, Multiple Choice, Fill-iin-the-Blank, Short & Long Answer, etc.).

Survey |
This feature allows instructors to request feedback from learner. It is similar to the quiz tool except that a survey can be collected anonymously and no points are associated with it.
