Desire2Learn (D2L) is a course management system. It provides a password-protected environment in which students can interact online with each other and with their instructor. You only need a computer, Internet access, and a browser to use the features provided in D2L.
| Tool | Description |

| Chat | The Chat tool allows you to communicate with class members synchronously (at the same time) in D2L |
| Checklist | The Checklist tool allows you to list assignments for the class.. Students can then check off' each assignment as it is completed. |
| Classlist | The Classlist provides a list of students currently enrolled in a class. It can be used to check student progress n the class. |
| Content | The Content tool allows you to post and organize relevant learning materials for your students. |
| Discussions | The Discussions tool can be used for online discussions among the members of the class. |
| Dropbox | The Dropbox provides a convenient way for students to electronically submit assignments. You can then provide feedback, assign grades, and return submissions with track changes and comments. |
| Grades | The Grades tool allows you to establish an online gradebook. |
| Links | The Links tool allows you to provide students with easy access to online resources (webpages & websites). |
| News | Located on the Course Home page, the News tool allows you to post messages that your students will see when they first access the class. |
| Pager | The Pager allows you and your students to 'page' each other by sending a short text message. |
| Quizzes | The Quizzes tool allows you to create a variety of assessments for your students. |
| Surveys | The Surveys tool is similar to the Quizzes tool and allows you to create a variety of surveys for your students. |
