D2L Shell - How to Request

NOTE: When requesting a D2L shell for a semester-based class, you must include the BSU Course ID number in order for your D2L class shell to be created. You can find the Course ID number on the BSU Class Schedule.

For BSU Online Classes

If your class is being taught online, you do NOT need to request a D2L class shell.

EXCEPTION: If your online class was created near or after the beginning of the semester and does not yet have a D2L shell, you should send an email to Julie Adams or Theresa Perreault with the following information:

  1. Course number and name
  2. BSU Course ID #

NOTE: If your class has multiple sections and you want them combined into one D2L shell, you must include this information in your email.

For BSU On-Campus Classes

  1. Save the D2L Course Shell Request Form to your computer.
  2. Complete the form and send it to Theresa Perreault through inter-campus mail (Box 26) or as an email attachment.

NOTE: You must include the BSU Course ID number on the form or your request will not be completed.

Other Uses of D2L

  • Beaver Women's Hockey
  • Criminal Justice Department - Academic Advising
  • Online Business Administration Program (advising)
  • The BSU Graduate Community
  • Virtual Assembly (DLiTE & FasTrack Programs)

The list above is a sample of "other" uses of D2L. If you would like to have a D2L shell to support departmental advising, as a staff "center", as a student meeting place, or for another use no one has thought of yet, just send an email to Julie Adams with the name you would like to call the D2L site.

NOTE: You will be enrolled with the Staff Plus role, which will allow you to enroll other D2L users into the shell. Please direct questions to Julie Adams.
