Free Virus Protection
BSU provides Symantec Anti-Virus free of charge to all students living in the residence halls. Steps to install:
- Uninstall any existing virus protection software by using the Add/Remove Programs utility in the Control panel of your computer.
- Go to MyBSU - Software and download the appropriate version for your computer.
- Follow the installation wizard to install the program on your computer.
Make sure to run updates and scan your computer regularly to ensure full protection.
Email Filtering - Virus & Spam
BSU and NTC have an institutional license to use Ironport - an
industrial-strength anti-spam, anti-virus solution. Since it was
implemented in Fall 2008 (BSU) and Summer 2009 (NTC) there has been a
dramatic reduction in spam, phishing attacks and messages infected with
viruses. Ironport automatically intercepts email messages before they
reach your mailbox.
