Student Email Account Information
Email accounts are created for BSU students approximately one week before classes begin.
Login Information:
To get to the student account login page use one of the following options:
- Follow this link: http://www.bemidjistate.edu/superlab/studentmail/
- From BSU’s Main Page, select “Current Students” and then “Check E-Mail".
- From the ITS Main Page, select "Students", then "Student Email", then "Check Email".
Username:
The first 4 letters of last name, the number 1 (or subsequent number if duplicate names exist) followed by the first three letters of first name. For example:
- John Smith would be smit1joh
- The second John Smith would be smit2joh
Password:
Student TechID. This is the 8 digit number on student ID cards.
Addressing Email:
There are two ways to address email to a BSU student.
- Use an alias which is in the firstname.lastname@st.bemidjistate.edu format. In the case of duplicate names, a number is added to the lastname. Therefore, the second John Smith will be: John.Smith1@st.bemidjistate.edu
- Use the student’s username which is what they use to login in to their student email account: smit1john@st.bemidjistate.edu
Because the student email domain name (st.bemidjistate.edu) is different from the employee email domain name (bemidjistate.edu) it is necessary to use complete email address, including @st.bemidjistate.edu or @bemidjistate.edu, when sending email between employees and students.
