Directory Assistance - You can dial 8 + 1 + the area code + 555-1212 + wait for the tone and then dial your long distance ID code. However, you will be charged long distance and an access fee each time you utilize directory assistance.

To call anywhere in the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii and Canada - dial 8 + 1 + the area code + the 7 digit number + wait for the prompt and then dial your 6 digit ID code followed by the # sign. To obtain a long distance code, your supervisor must email your tech ID, your phone number and the cost center that will pay for the calls to mbock@bemidjistate.edu
International Calls - dial 8 + 011 + Country Code + the number + wait for the prompt and then dial your 6 digit ID code followed by the # sign. Contact the Telephone Services Office at 2050 if you have a problem dialing.
State Telephones shall not be used for personal long distance calls. This includes the incoming toll free numbers. Such calls constitute illegal avoidance of state/federal taxes and are clearly contrary to the proper usage of lines intended for state business only. Individuals making personal long distance calls from state facilities will be subject to applicable legal sanctions.
If you need to make a personal long distance call, you may do so using a personal long distance calling card.
