SBDC presents May 22 course on personal credit scores

BEMIDJI, Minn. – A presentation entitled “Protecting and Understanding Your Credit” coordinated by the Northwest Regional Small Business Center, will be Thursday, May 22, at the Bemidji State University Center for Research and Innovation.

The presentation will be held from 6-9 p.m. at the CRI, an off-campus facility located at 3801 Bemidji Ave. North.

Have you ever wondered what really happens when someone steals your identity? Have you ever been turned down for a loan and not understood why? How do you make your credit better? If you’ve ever had questions like these, then this is the class for you.

Lauralee Nicholas, Small Business Development Center instructor and former personal banker, will explore and explain the fundamentals of credit. She will cover a broad range of topics including credit bureaus, credit scoring and factors which influence your credit score, how to obtain your credit report, disputing incorrect information on your credit report and identity theft.

The Small Business Development Center is housed at the Bemidji State University Center for Research and Innovation.
