Halloween-themed events planned at Bemidji State University

BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University will sponsor a variety of events surrounding Halloween, with the residence halls hosting their annual trick or treating on Thursday, Oct. 30, and the Outdoor Programming Center (OPC) hosting its Halloween rock-climbing competition on Friday, Oct. 31.

Once again, a student-hosted indoor trick or treating night will take place in the residence halls on the Bemidji State campus on Thursday, Oct. 30, from 5-7:00 p.m.

The front desk of each residence hall will have a listing of rooms participating in the trick or treating event; participating rooms will have a door tag to indicate that they are giving out candy. Residence hall students are also encouraged to decorate their floors in Halloween themes.

The Outdoor Programming Center is hosting a Halloween-themed event on Oct. 31, its annual “Boulderween” climbing competitino.

“Boulderween,” which will be held in the Gillett Recreation Fitness Center from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, will award prizes for the climber with the best costume and the most climbing points. Climbing paths with a range of difficulty levels will be set up on the climbing wall.

The contest is designed to be an informal event, and climbing experience is not required.

Cost is $15 for students and $20 for the public, which includes access to the fitness center. Walk-ins are welcome, but pre-registration is encouraged. Registrants can pay beforehand or at the door.
