• Travis Bartels will join the Physical Plant as a general maintenance worker effective April 20.

Dr. Joann Fredrickson, professor of business administration, has earned Quality Matters certification for her BUAD 3520 course, Business Ethics. It is Fredrickson’s second course to earn certification, joining her BUAD 3771 Financial Management course.

• Dr. Debbie Guelda, professor of biology, will direct BSU’s Center for Professional Development beginning in the fall of 2016.

Scott Guidry, assistant professor of music and director of bands, will present “Music Diplomacy” as part of the local Adventures in Lifelong Learning series on April 12.

Loralyn Kuechle has been named interim director of BSU’s Hobson Memorial Union. She had been with Housing and Residence Life as hall director for Oak Hall and coordinator of BSU’s First-Year Resident Experience (FYRE) program.

George McConnell has been named assistant director of graduate education, effective April 6. McConnell has been at BSU as the assistant to the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences for the last two and a half years, and also teaches in the humanities program. Before coming to BSU, he worked in the Washington, DC area, and has many years of experience in direct marketing, as well student and administrative support for the Episcopal Diocese.

Megan McLaughlin has joined the International Program Center as an international recruiter, effective April 11.

• Cory Renbarger, assistant professor of music, is performing the title role in Gianni Schicchi with the Fargo-Moorhead Opera on April 8 and 10.

Kevin Ulmer has joined Beaver Athletics as the university’s new head volleyball coach. He was introduced at a press conference on April 5.
