Bemidji State Offers NETA Personal Training Certification Workshop

Bemidji State University’s Gillette Wellness Center will be hosting a National Exercise Trainers Association Personal Trainer certification workshop May 13–14.

The workshop is 8 a.m.–5 p.m. on May 13 and 8 a.m.–4 p.m. on May 14. The workshop, held annually at BSU, is available to anyone pursuing certification as a personal trainer; continuing education credits can be applied toward the renewal of current credentials.

The workshop has a registration fee of $499, which includes National Commission for Certifying Agencies-accredited certification and a proctored final exam. Study materials are sold separately.

The workshop features 14 hours of interactive lectures and demonstrations with practical applications of one-on-one training in a variety of topics, including exercise science, health and fitness assessments, exercise programming for healthy adults, principles of nutrition and weight management and dynamics of communication and behavioral change.

Participants must hold current CPR and Automated External Defibrillator certifications prior to registration. NETA certification is valid for two years from the date of issue.
