BSU’s production of “No More Peace!” will be directed by Patrick Carriere, assistant professor of theater and communication arts, with music direction and composition by Matt Goinz, senior in theater from Bemidji, Minn.

“No More Peace!” is a musical satire written by Ernst Toller between the first and second World Wars. It is a biting, comical look at how hollow humanity’s efforts to create lasting peace are in light of our propensity for making war.

Upon the announcement of a world peace through the auspices of the League of Nations, the residents of the small central European country of Dunkelstein receive an ominous, and false, telegram stating that their country is under attack. In their response to this telegram, the audience is afforded a view of the powerbrokers of a nation as they convince the people, with relatively little effort, to go to war.

Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for students, children and senior citizens. BSU students are admitted free with a valid student ID. “No More Peace” is appropriate for audiences of all ages.

Tickets are available in the Bangsberg Fine Arts Complex box office, located in Bangsberg 127 on the BSU campus, beginning Monday, Oct. 13. The box office is open from 1-5 p.m. weekdays; call (218) 755-3863 for more information.
