Touché Gallerie to host student exhibit “Booya”

BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University senior Michael Miller will present an exhibition entitled “Booya” in the University’s Touché Gallerie from Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 8.

The exhibit is set up as a family meal served in different courses from start to finish. Miller concentrates on drawing using a variety of media including pen and ink, graphite, charcoal and pastels. The art produced for the show is a reflection of Miller’s process of expressing himself in different media and an evolution of his growth process and recovery from illness.

“This experience has helped me in my recovery from a personal illness and also enabled me to accomplish a goal of completing a bachelor’s degree in art that I have always wanted,” Miller said.

An opening reception for the show will be held on Monday, May 4, from 4-6 p.m.

Miller is a senior from Bemidji majoring in art.

Located in the Upper Hobson Union on the campus of Bemidji State University, the Touché Gallerie is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The gallery is open at no charge to the public.
