40 student-athletes competing on BSU baseball squad

The Bemidji State University baseball team was picked ninth in the 2014 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preseason Baseball Coaches’ Poll, with seniors Zach Braun (catcher, Lakeville, Minn.) and Miles Campbell (right handed pitcher, Eden Prairie, Minn.) named BSU’s Players to Watch. In total, this year’s squad features 40 members from six states and Canada.

In 2013, the Beavers finished 25-22 overall, recording the second most wins in program history, and were 13-13 in NSIC play to place eighth. BSU earned a spot in the conference tournament championship for the first time since 2008.

The Beavers will begin their season March 7-15 with a 10-game spring break trip to Tucson, Ariz. Their first NSIC game will take place at at Upper Iowa University March 29-30, and their first home contest is set for Apr. 9 versus Wayne State College.

Bemidji State University is an NCAA Division II institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
