Optivation to host two-session introduction to blogging course

BEMIDJI, Minn. (Oct. 13, 2010) — Bemidji State University’s Optivation venture will hold a two-session introduction to blogging course on consecutive Fridays, on Oct. 22 and Oct. 29.

A previously-announced session for Friday, Oct. 15, has been canceled.

The blogging workshop and introductory session will be taught by Debbie Warne-Jacobson, a local website designer and content creator with more than 15 years of web development experience.

Both sessions of the workshop will be held in room 322 at Northwest Technical College in Bemidji. The workshops are presented as individual courses; participants are not required to attend all three.

Friday, Oct. 22
The second session of the blogging workshop will have participants set up and launch a fully functioning blog or website.

This session will be held from 2-5 p.m. and has a fee of $60.

Friday, Oct. 27
The three-part workshop concludes with an advanced session that teaches participants how to customize their blog. Topics will include customizing standard themes using images such as a company logo, the process for registering a custom domain name and setting up a blog or other website to sell products using PayPal and a low-cost web hosting provider.

This session will be held from 2-5 p.m. and has a fee of $60.
