BSU to Host Student Creativity Festival

BEMIDJI, Minn. (Jan. 4, 2012) — Bemidji State University will play host to the annual Student Creativity Festival on Jan. 5.  The festival provides the opportunity for fifth to eighth-grade students from 26 communities across northwest Minnesota to participate in activities focused on the arts, creativity and problem solving.

The program, sponsored by Northwest Service Cooperative, opens in Hagg-Sauer Hall on the Bemidji State campus at 9:15 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m.

The event will open with a general session by John Stetson, “100,000 Miles by Dog Team.”  Stetson has traveled over 100,000 miles by dog team, primarily in the Arctic and sub-Arctic regions, and been involved in some of the most significant polar expeditions in history.

Sessions will continue in Hagg-Sauer Hall and the Hobson Memorial Union and include: Guitars and Changing Technology, Extreme Brain Exploration, Mad About Science, Through the Lens of a Camera, How Fiction Writers Write, Lift Every Voice and Sing, and Pushes and Pulls.
