360° hosts Nov. 19 Additive Manufacturing Summit

The 360° Manufacturing and Applied Engineering ATE Regional Center of Excellence, led by Bemidji State University, announces that registration is open for “Taking Shape: Additive Manufacturing Summit,” Nov. 19, 2013, in Minneapolis.

This one-day program is designed to expose the expanding potential of 3D printing to manufacturing and product development engineers and technicians from many of Minnesota’s leading manufacturing companies. It also is appropriate for manufacturing professionals who are looking beyond rapid prototyping and seeking to better understand the potential for integrating additive manufacturing technology into their operations.

The summit features a full day of educational sessions on the practical application of 3D printing in manufacturing, including presentations from author and technologist Melba Kurman and Stratasys executive Fred Fischer. An additional tour and reception at the Stratasys manufacturing facility is available to a limited audience.

Reflecting on the development of the Summit, 360° Executive Director Karen White says, “We built the Taking Shape program in direct response to marketplace demand for practical education about evolving technology, like additive manufacturing. We also appreciate Stratasys’ visionary sponsorship of the Summit.”

The summit, which will be held at the Sheraton Minneapolis West, located at 12201 Ridgedale Drive in Minnetonka, Minn., carries a registration fee is $85. The fee includes a complete day of educational activities at the summit, including breakfast and lunch. A $115 package, which includes the full-day package and a tour of Stratasys, a manufacturer of 3D printers and production systems based in Eden Prairie, Minn.

Discounts are available for college students, and a limited number of complimentary press registrations are available on request. To register or learn more about the program, visit 360mn.org.
