BSU announces new tenures and promotions

Five professors at Bemidji State University have received tenure, and eight more have received promotions to kick off the 2014-15 academic year.

Tenures Received
• Dr. Valica Boudry, associate professor of mass communications
• Dr. Mary Fairbanks, associate professor of nursing
• Dr. Tiffany Hommes, assistant professor of nursing
• Dr. Carolyn Townsend, associate professor of nursing
• Mr. Peter McDonnell, assistant professor and systems/distance librarian, library & Library Services

Promotions Granted
• Dr. Virgil Bakken, Department of Mass Communications, promoted from associate to full professor.
• Dr. Valica Boudry, Department of Mass Communications, promoted from assistant to associate professor.
• Dr. Stephen Carlson, Department of Music, promoted from associate to full professor.
• Dr. Mary Fairbanks, School of Nursing, promoted from assistant to associate professor.
• Dr. Dean Frost, Department of Business Administration, promoted from associate to full professor.
• Dr. Nancy Hall, School of Nursing, promoted from assistant to associate professor.
• Dr. Tiffany Hommes, School of Nursing, promoted from assistant to associate professor.
• Dr. Sheila Paul, School of Nursing, promoted from assistant to associate professor.
