Bemidji State to host social work licensure workshop

BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University’s Department of Social Work will hold a Minnesota Board of Social Work licensure workshop on Monday, Oct. 29 for any person interested in pursuing a license to practice social work in Minnesota. The workshop is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Lueken’s North Conference Room in Bemidji, Minn.

The workshop will be presented by Kate Zacher-Pate, assistant director of the Board of Social Work and supervisor of the Licensing Division.

The Minnesota Board of Social Work was established to ensure to the citizens of Minnesota quality social work services by establishing and enforcing professional standards. The Board is an agency of the State of Minnesota, and its purpose is to regulate social workers. The Board ensures that social workers meet appropriate standards of professional behavior. As such, the Board exists to serve the public, not social workers. The primary goal of the Board is public protection.
