Women's History Month panel set for March 19

As part of its lineup of activities celebrating March as Women’s History Month, the Bemidji State University Center for Professional Development, Liberal Education and Women’s Studies is hosting a March 19 panel discussion on preparing women to enter a professional work environment.

The panel discussion will be held from 4-5:15 p.m. in Hagg-Sauer Hall room 102 on the Bemidji State campus. It is free and open to the public.

Panelists will discuss professional workplace environments women may encounter and workplace expectations they will face as they transition into careers. Each of the four panelists will offer a 10-minute presentation, with a question-and-answer session at the end.

The four panelists for this presentation are:
• Rebecca Dawley, first vice president and director of information services, Federated Mutual Insurance Company, presenting “Entering a Male-Dominated-Work Place”;
• Nikki Brink, human resources director, First National Bank of Bemidji, presenting “The Role of Human Resources,”;
• Susan Rickers, assistant professor of social work at Bemidji State, presenting “Maintaining Work/Life Balance,”; and
• Nancy Haugen, associate director of BSU Career Services, presenting “Resources for Entering the Workplace.”
