BSU is hosting master flutist Linda Chatterton for a concert, presentation and master class during a two-day visit, Friday and Saturday, March 25-26. On Friday pianist Matthew McCright joined Chatterton for a 7:30 p.m. recital at Thompson Recital Hall. Her program featured works by four women composers, including an unaccompanied flute solo. On Saturday, Chatterton will offer a 1pm master class for high school flutists in Bangsberg. Three students will receive coaching from Chatterton and give a performance. At 3 p.m., Chatterton will present It Sounded Better at Home, a motivational presentation based on her extensive work on the psychology of optimum performance. Her visit to Bemidji is made possible by support from the Bemidji Area Arts Endowment and the Minnesota State Arts Board, which awarded Chatterton with its 2010 Arts Tour grant. The activities are also funded in part by the Minnesota arts and cultural heritage fund, as appropriate by the Minnesota legislature.
