One of the advantages of a campus on a lake and next to a park is the opportunity to move a class outside when the situation warrants it. As Dr. Timothy Brockman, Associate Professor, Technological Studies, explains: “The course is IT 3930, Sustainability and Emerging Technologies. We were sitting in BN 118 and I was just starting to talk about the biophilia hypothesis, which suggests that there is an instinctive bond between human beings and other living systems, or simply said it is the love of nature. At that point I took the discussion to Diamond Point, what better place to talk about the love of nature, living systems and sustainability.”
