Plans for summer 2011 are moving forward. We are working with lab managers (faculty representatives for various lab locations) across campus to implement this summer’s replacements and upgrades, in keeping with our 4-year hardware rotation.
During the summer of 2009 we replaced 90 systems, and 175 computers were replaced during summer 2010. During summer 2011 we will be replacing 140 systems. 80 Dell core i5 systems will be installed in 14 locations, and 60 iMac core i5 systems will be installed in 6 locations.

The plans for summer 2010 are underway. We are working with lab managers across campus to implement more large-scale replacements and upgrades.
While 90 new systems were installed in labs during the summer of 2009, installation of 175 new systems are planned for summer 2010. Assuming that the new Windows 7 platform is stable and has a limited number of compatibility issues, we will be implementing new Dell hardware running Windows 7. A number of labs will remain dual boot labs in order to meet the needs of users who require the Macintosh operating system its accompanying unique applications.

Labs Receiving Upgraded Equipment (these will remain dual boot Mac labs):
As mentioned above, significant changes were implemented during the summer of 2009. Nearly 90 new systems (75 of which were Macintosh computers) were installed in labs across the BSU campus. Newer systems were migrated from their existing lab locations to replace the oldest of our lab technology. Retired technology was recycled.
At NTC 30 new computer systems were installed in labs and the oldest technology was retired.
