Campus Notes

College of Arts and Sciences

* Dr. Wendy Greenberg, adjunct biology instructor, is second of 14 authors for the children's soil science book titled "Soil: Get the Inside Scoop," published by the Soil Science Society of America in July 2008.

College of Business, Technology and Communications

* Interm dean Carol Neilsen announced Feb. 12 that Sharon Russell has accepted the position of administrative assistant position with the college. Russell had been with the tech studies department since 2002. Russell's phone number is 755-2732.

College of Health Sciences and Human Ecology

* Dr. Lorraine Boyle, associate professor of professional education, presented "The 21st Century Reflective Teacher Portfolio Assessment of Standards of Effective Practice Competencies Demonstrated by Student Teachers Enrolled in a Hybrid Online Teacher Licensure Program" at the Minnesota Association of Colleges for Teacher Education's 2008-09 Winter Congress, held Jan. 30 in Minneapolis. Her co-presenters were DLiTE students Terry Crosby, Heather Kemp and Jamie Quam.
Boyle also presented " Did Socrates Have It Right? A Considered Life = A Life Well Lived!" at the same conference, discussing Bemidji State's dual-delivery system for students in its elementary education program.
