SUMMER BALLON INSURANCE

BSU faculty or staff who do not receive a paycheck during the summer months, in order to remain eligible for the employer (BSU) contribution toward your insurance coverage(s), you will have a summer balloon insurance payment deducted in three equal amounts.

The Department of Employee Relations (DOER) will deduct the regular pay period deduction plus ten (10) times the regular employee pay period insurance contribution on pay dates:

April 11
April 25
May 9

The balloon insurance deduction applies to all State group coverages in which you are enrolled and covers the months of April through August 2008.

The calculation is based on the following formula:

Total of normal deductions X ten (10); divided by three (3);+ your normal pay period deduction

Please contact Terri Davis at extension 2502 or tdavis@bemidjistate.edu of you have any questions.
